One of two recycled and reimagined Boardwalk casino resorts opening this year, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City will open on June 28. The Wednesday announcement was delivered courtesy of a trio of simultaneous press conferences at Hard Rock Cafés in Philadelphia, NYC and the Hard Rock Atlantic City preview center at Tanger Outlets in Atlantic City.
Local media reports that at 11:10am, Chairman, Hard Rock International & CEO, Seminole Gaming, Jim Allen (pictured), announced the opening date that is just a week past two months away and that some 300 acts including Blake Shelton, Steve Byrne, Steely Dan, Kid Rock and many more have been booked to perform at the Hard Rock Atlantic City.
Set on 17 acres, the former Trump Taj Mahal promises to revitalize the legendary Atlantic City Boardwalk with world-class entertainment. Visitors can look forward to an expansive nightlife circuit, shows at the 400-seat Hard Rock Café, first-class restaurants, 150,000 square feet of event space and any one of the 2,200 slots and 125 table games.
The grand opening announcement comes just a day after a public meeting on Tuesday saw the New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (NJCRDA) approve signage variances for the $500 million Boardwalk project owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida.
Previously named TEN Atlantic City until it was sold in January to AC Ocean Walk LLC for $200 million and renamed, the 7BALL 6.4 million square foot Ocean Resort Casino also expects to re-open for business this summer.
Earlier this month saw AC Ocean Walk sign a franchise deal with Hyatt Hotels Corp. that will see the soon to be opened Atlantic City property become the latest member of the hotel giant’s The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand.
