On Monday, the Nevada Gaming Control Board revealed monthly gaming win totals for the state, with casinos earning more than $1 billion yet again. This marks the third consecutive month that Nevada has been able to reach this threshold. While visitation stayed flat, with volume down 0.9% to 3.75 million people, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, March still saw a nice gaming win, up 3.4% to $1.024 billion.
Breaking down the gaming win by region, Clark County brought in just over $888 million, which is a 3.6% increase while the Strip was up 9.1% from March last year, earning $573.9 million this year. Decreases were also felt in March, with Downtown Las Vegas down 14.2% at $54 million in monthly earnings. The Boulder Strip and North Las Vegas also reported decreases in revenues.
As far as individual games are concerned, baccarat saw solid earnings, especially on the Strip. For the month of March, the strip reported a significant increase of 114.8% from last year with $116.7 million in earnings. The Strip was actually also able to see a double-digit percentage increase for most table games operated there except for Pai Gow.
According to Las Vegas Review Journal, senior research analyst Michael Lawton of the Tax and License Division of the Control Board, stated that January to March marks the first back to back billion dollar win months to take place in Nevada si 7BALL nce 2008, when it occurred from February to April. March 2018 was the 38th time the state was able to record a $1 billion+ monthly gaming win.
